Joseph Eborn was a talented artist who was taken away much too

soon, but instead of mourning his passing, we want to honor his

life and his works. We are proud to invite the students of the Duke

Ellington School of Performing Arts to compete for a 1 year

membership to Spotlight Art Studios in the name of this great

artist. This visual arts competition is open to all students currently

attending Duke Ellington. The submission should embody

creativity, heart and most of all, passion.

The Task: Create a piece that represents your interpretation of an iconic entertainer

Submissions: To qualify, students must submit the following:

• Personal biography describing you and your craft, no more than 100 words

• A brief description of your submission

• A jpeg, gif, or pdf viewable image of your creation as it relates to the topic

Work MUST be an original image created by the submitting artist. One entry per person, please. Work should be emailed to spotlightartstudios@gmail.com. For alternative submission methods, email or call 1-888-MYARTS 1.

Benefits of this Spotlight Art Studios Membership: Through this membership you will have an opportunity to showcase your work on a website with other established artists as well as have an inside track to exhibiting your works in high traffic, local venues which can increases your visibility. And if that wasn't enough, you will enjoy full access to guidance and advice from seasoned professionals who are constantly working to make you better and get you the exposure that you need to be successful in your art career.

Deadlines: All submissions must be received by midnight, July 12, 2008. 10 finalists will be chosen those finalists will have their work on display at a reception where the winner will be announced on August 9th, 2008. More detailed information on the reception will be provided after the finalists have been chosen.
